tinnitus ibuprofen
Way too much Aspirin?

Hello,

For the last two week I have been taking a packet of 8 Aspirin tablets with a packet of 8 Ibuprofen tablets, about 6 times a day.

Aspirin 300mg * 8 tablets * 6 times = 14400mg per day
Ibuprofen 200mg * 8 tablets * 6 times = 9600mg per day

Since approximately day 2 I have had bad tinnitus, constant sweating, rapid & shallow breathing, feeling tired, poor consentration and sleeping lots, but absolutely no sign of death, internal bleeding or organ damage / failure.

For what I have read, this dose should constitute a chronic overdose and I should be experiencing some level of discomfort other than the effects listed above.

Size / health wise, I’m a 30 year old male, ex-army, train 5 days a week at gym, about 14 stone (89kg).

Any info on why I’m doing so well on Aspirin plus Ibuprofen would be well appreciated. Don’t worry, it’s not a suicide thing although it is far too complicated to explain on here.

wow, you may want to call your md…you are waaaaaaaaaaay overdosing. aspirin and ibuprofen are very very simular. NEVER take them together. they could both make you bleed out or get ulcers. holy crap, i can’t believe you’ve been doing that without asking a pharmacist or md at least!!! if plain old asprin isn’t working then ask the md for something stronger. you shouldn’t have more than 1600 mg of ibuprofen ALL DAY LONG. Aspirin is close to the same dosage…and no more than 4000mg of tylenol a day. jesus christ! call your md even if they’re closed and tell the answering service to call you right freakin back. tell the md when he calls you what you’ve been doing and he may tell you to go to the hospital. if he thinks you’re ok, he could call you in some vicodin. wow…just wow.
