Tinnitus Prescription Drugs
I think I’m addicted to Advil pm (normal dose)?
I’ve never been addicted to any prescription drug before, and I’m not abusing Advil PM, but I have constant tinnitus and it makes it near impossible to sleep .. Gives me lots of headaches too..
Is it worse to take Advil PM on a fairly regular basis, or to hardly ever sleep and have tons of anxiety?
Well let me first tell you that you aren’t “addicted” like how someone is addicted to heroin or a prescription drug because you can’t become physically dependent to Advil meaning you cant go through withdrawal.
I think you are just used to it helping you sleep.
The ingredient in Advil PM that is helping you calm down/sleep is literally the exact same thing that Benedryl is.
It is safe to take on a regular basis so if you want to take Advil PM every night, go right on ahead.
However if i were you, i would switch to just plain old Benedryl instead of Advil with Benedryl just because it is easier on your kidneys and liver….
If you want to stop taking it, you can switch to a more natural alternative by buying something that is natural. There are many natural supplements out there in the sleep aid category like Unisom..etc.
The most common natural supplement ingredients used for sleep aids are Melatonin and Valerian Root.
If you feel anxious during the day and also feel like you cant get to sleep at night, you can also try taking a very very effective natural supplement that will help with anxiety as well as insomnia. It’s called GABA. It is something that is already found in your brain so it’s safe all it does is inhibit neural impulses. The only precaution is do not take very very high amounts of it for months and then all of the sudden stop.
So do whatever makes you feel best because the advil pm, benedryl, and supplements can all help and are all safe and are all okay to take daily.
