tinnitus virus
all people with tinnitus or doctors answer?

im 15 years old I have had tinnitus for over three years now. i came up with the theory after learning that the vzv virus never leaves the body but hides in the central nervous system, so i thought maybe when people with the infection are exposed to loud noise, the signals in the ear nerves disturb the virus and the tinnitus begins. i then looked into it on the internet in depth and found that scientists have discovered that the virus is found in the middle ear. the virus is a living organism, right? so like us it will have a tiny electrical current which could be interfering with the ear signals reaching the brain. also in my case my tinnitus is linked to the nerves in my teeth because when i grit my teeth the ringing becomes more Intense. tell me what you think? this is just a theory and im more than likely wrong but i want to know what other people think. by the way i got the virus years ago when i caught chickenpox.

Jason, you probably have TMJ disorder and not tinnitus. Ringing in the ears or tinnitus is a symptoms of jaw tension and as your problem comes up when you grind your teeth, it probably is TMJ.

Get yourself checked for that. You may get more info here http://www.healthherbsandnutrition.com/remedies/t/tmjdisorders.htm
