I am confused about tinnitus …?
I think I have tinnitus. I have ringing in my ears very often and I realize that I have been listening to music vlumes increase since last year. when I play my instrument, my ears hurt and feel pot on high ground. I want to know if the symptoms and effects of tinnitus and whether it can be cured. but when I look at the issues exist here on Yahoo Answers, the answers are inconsistent. Some say that tinnitus can be cured, while some say it can vary in volume, but never disappear. I need to know a definite answer cos I'm really worried. My friend, infectted, also asked about this on Yahoo Answers. Can anyone give a good answer cos I'm really worried for me and my friend. thank you.
The answer is that there is no single answer that corresponds to everyone across the board. If there is an underlying cause for tinnitus, such as infection or fluid in the ear, then it can certainly be cured. But there are other reasons, it can happen, and many of them are incurable. I once had a patient in a nursing home who had lived with tinnitus in his ears humm over 70, which was assigned to work with aircraft engines.
